Longboard and Skateboard Manufacturers

Mindless Longboards

Mindless Longboards Have been providing us with brilliantly priced, superbly built boards for over 5 years. With looks going into the future but still with a firm grip on the past mindless boards have an aesthetic which is sure to please any skater from the die hard bowl carver to the sidewalk surfer carving those imaginary waves. Not just content with looking like gems found on the floor of Aladdin“s cave, Mindless Longboards have a range of skateboards with the performance of their higher priced competitors but without the price tag.

The small retro pocket cruisers they name the «Rascall» has proved to us that quality can come at a good price as well as performance. The versatility of the boards from mindless is something which makes their boards stand out from other boards at this price point. The more traditional longboards from Mindless Longboards have a subtlety to them which competitors at the same price point seem to miss. The Mindless «Maverick» mixes the finest Canadian hard rock maple with both smoked and un-smoked bamboo giving the deck a natural, timeless look. With an energetic flex which holds its spring, this board will respond underfoot and provide a smooth cruise throughout the turn.

The components are tried and tested around the UK and finished with great wheel/truck combos. Wheels such as the «Bandit» perform how you want it to, with a great profile and strong compound, this wheel fits alongside many of the other more expensive wheels, a wheel to put your trust into.

Overall, Mindless Longboards are a fantastic option for many skaters who look for quality at an affordable price. With a solid range and some interesting ideas, some old school influences thrown into the mix and wheel/truck combos to seal the deal we believe at these price points there is no better name around then Mindless Longboards!

Gordon & Smith Skateboards

Gordon & Smith Skateboards have been around since the very beginning. Starting making skateboards in 1964 Gordon & Smith have been pioneers of skateboarding longer than anyone else around.

Gordon & Smith were the first company to sponsor professional skateboarders. A company with deep roots in surfing they have been the backbone of skateboarding for many years. Riding through the highs of the seventies and sticking it through the downs of the eighties and early nineties Gordon & Smith have shown the skateboarding community that they are in it for the long haul. Providing skateboards at exceptional quality, the longevity of Gordon & Smith is a benchmark for other brands. Skaters will go back to G&S time and time again. A true legend on the scene.

Being one of the first to use fibreglass laminates in their decks, G&S have some beautiful boards in their collection. With boards to suit anyone“s needs, pintails, mini cruisers, re-issues, vert & street boards, and a full range of wheels and accessories G&S are a kingpin of the skateboarding community.

One thing which we hear happy customers repeat is that out of all the boards they have had their G&S stood the test of time and still looked mint after all the years of abuse. The fibreflex technology is not a new one but is still to this day the strongest and most responsive composite widely used in skateboard technology today.

With the popularity of the Dogtown era mini cruiser style set-ups have largely grown in presence on the scene. The versatility of these boards is one of their main focal points. As well as looking damn good! G&S have some of the best mini cruiser set-ups around at surprisingly low prices for the quality we have learnt to expect from them.

With various options on the wheel/truck setups these mini cruiser boards will have you searching out for abandoned backyard pools tearing up a dishcloth for a headband and shredding the gnar!

Whilst the popularity of mini cruisers and retro set-ups has risen, the longer boards and traditional cruisers by G&S have continued to evolve. With trademark styling and aesthetically pleasing looks G&S have recently added some interesting boards to their collection.

This is the latest addition to the Fibreflex lineup, the SUPER CARVE model. It is 35-7/8" long by 9-3/8" wide, on a sweet 4ply cambered deck with a bit of concave, and it has a 26.5"-- 27.5" adjustable wheelbase.

The range of G&S is huge so contact us if there is anything you are searching for. If you want the original and best quality then G&S are for you. Stylistically they are beautiful and functionally superb.

We have been dealing with the guys at Lush Longboards for quite some years now. Over the years the boards have become more refined with higher spec options entering their product range. They have always been a pleasure to deal with and often stress to us that if we ever get any queries from customers in the shop then we shouldn“t hesitate to contact them and they will converse with whoever it is. You can be assured that when you purchase a board from Lush Longboards you will be getting a board which has had the up most care and attention on build and vigorous product testing.

As well as the sponsored riders you will no doubt have noticed the Lush Longboard presence on both the contest scene and on the streets. Whether it is a glance you see of a battered old «Kilima» or a night time sighting of a soul carver on his unmistakable «Samba» Lush Longboards have a strong customer base and are proving that they can stand the test of time in a cut throat market.

With trademark quality they have maintained high standards and attention to detail, the completes are built to a high quality. Each board must be checked before it leaves the warehouse. The boards have evolved over the years, developed on the streets, parks and hills of Sheffield and epic downhill runs in the Derbyshire Peak District, the Alps, Pyrenees and whole load of other places to encompass every style of riding from street, sliding, park and bowls, to pure carving, surf style, cruising to the shops and all-out downhill speed.

Lush Longboards took on the big companies starting from a small shed in Sheffield and now sit proudly on top of the throne of UK longboarding. Support British Longboarding and watch these magnificent boards transform the way you skate. Lush Longboards have over the past five years been creating a top of the range sliding glove to go with boards such as the «Globe 33» or the aptly named «Globe Slide» These gloves have gone through some interesting developments and are now refined to a sleek looking, breathable and functionally perfect glove. Made from Kevlar and Leather, these gloves are built to last.

Loaded Longboards

Loaded Longboards began in early 1995, trying to mimic the heady rush of snowboarding on the suburban streets and asphalt of California. Throughout lengthy experimentation and some breakthrough development in carbon/ply composites the guys at Loaded Longboards now offer an astonishing range.

With an eye for detail and customization points such as flex rebound, Loaded Longboards have a product which has not only been proven to work but exceeds expectations of even the most die hard of skaters. The natural looks of the finish work really well, add in some simple but beautiful graphics giving the boards an organic feel and you“re onto a winner!

Do not be fooled by the nice looks, these boards can bite! If you are looking to push your heel that little bit further into your turns, to carve from curb to curb then these boards are the ones for you. Powering through slides, nose manuals down your favourite hill at sunset, hanging ten toes off the nose as you ride past that cute girl and beer runs for the boys is the lifestyle of Loaded Longboards.

The customization in Loaded Longboards is a great part of their character. With various stiffness of flex and cut outs to decrease torsional tension throughout the board. The use of Epoxy Tri-axial resin on these boards increases their life. As well as being lighter than traditional resin it is much stronger and will resist dings and de-lamination.

These are boards you can push to their absolute limits and they will bounce back. Your trusty reliable to the pub and your guarantee of that adrenaline fix just when you need it. The «Dervish» by Loaded Longboards is one of those boards you can truly push and also a board with a lot of technology backing it up. With CCS precision milled cut-outs and vertically laminated bamboo cores Loaded Longboards have produced some of the most advanced longboards to date. Seeing is really believing with these boards!

This «drop thru» carver can do it all, with a vertically laminated bamboo core with convex and concave camber, this board has great energy potential. As well as advancing some techniques of production, Loaded Longboards are looking into the future of longboarding and developing products which up until now had been missing on the market. Take the «Tan Tien» model for instance.

This board has a foot locking concave, a stiffer rigid deck with kicks just big enough to pop tricks but not too large to get in the way of a proper hack. Long boarding is evolving and boards like the «Tan Tien» are helping the push.

Loaded Longboards use the best components available in continuation of their ethic. The relationship between orang-utan wheels and Loaded Longboards seems to be one which we have found works a treat. We pair these up with Randall“s, Paris or Holey trucks and the beast is born!

Orangutang wheels come in various shapes and sizes and have profiles to suit any preference. They are made using the highest grade poly-urethane and colours to blow your socks off too!

If you are looking for the best on the market then look no further. These boards will blow your expectations out the window. And possibly score you that girl/guy you saw checking you out as you skated past. No guarantees on that though!

Skateboarding and Longboarding

Past

The progression of skateboarding over the last 20 years is one of the most progressive and rapid growths of known sports. The equipment used by enthusiasts has always followed suit to which tricks people are gravitating towards at the present time. With the popularity of Dogtown and the documentary“s released, skateboarding has evolved through devolution and is now accessible to a wider range of people. Looking back to what people were riding decades ago has provided many companies with a new line of products which for a few years were simply forgotten about.

Looking back to the very beginning with boards being fashioned from early rollerblades in the 1950“s it was the surfers who first were bitten by the bug. Surfing is a massive influence on skateboarding and the basic movements of early skateboarding were done to replicate those turns done on waves.

Present

Over the years Skateboarding has progressed and new trends and fads have come and gone. There were some dark periods in the early eighties and early nineties, as well as having huge booms in the late nineties early 21st century.

Where does skateboarding stand now? Well as it is such a young sport who knows to where it is going to go next, but you can surely say that it is at its biggest point ever at present with multi million dollar industries purely selling skateboarding.

Future

The facilities are getting more complex as well as having influence from the parks of yesteryear. In the UK we are moving away from the pre-fabricated, council built facilities of the nineties. Of late there has been a boom of decent sized council funded concrete parks getting built all over the country.
